Happy New Year Everyone!

Just a few reminders:

The next PAC meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 8th at 7:00pm at WHS.

The PAC's pajama pants fund raiser will be held on Friday, January 11th.  On that day, the students, teachers and staff of Wolcott High School will be able to wear long flannel pajama pants to school for a fee of $3.00 payable to the PAC.

The PAC is in desperate need of volunteers to help sell tickets for the pajama pants fund raiser during the lunch waves (11:30am until 1:00pm) on January 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th.

We currently have one person for January 7th (Mike Quilter).

The goal of the PAC is to raise $2,000 during the course of the year so we can continue to donate $500 to each class for their various activities.  Raising funds above the $2,000 will allow the PAC to give scholarships to graduating seniors.

If you can spare any time at all to help with this fund raiser, please respond to this email.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Marlene A Albini
PAC Treasurer

2006-2007 PAC Membership Form

Dear Parents, Families, and Friends:

The Wolcott High School (WHS) Parent Action Council (PAC) welcomes you to the 2006-2007 school year!

The PAC is an incorporated organization founded for the purpose of promoting education at Wolcott High School and establishing a mutually beneficial relationship between the school, its teachers and parents of the students attending the school. The PAC is comparable to the PTO or PTA at other schools.

The WHS PAC provides a forum for parents to communicate with school administrators, teachers, staff members, and Board of Education members, and to participate planning for school related programs, events, etc. In essence, the PAC is your opportunity to be involved in your child's education.

Please join now; your participation is what makes us tick!

The membership determines the PAC's agenda each year. For the past several years, we have been able to award five $500 scholarships to graduating seniors attending institutions of higher education. We have also sponsored or contributed to activities for each class. Here are some examples:

  • $500 contribution to the senior yearbook publication
  • $500 donation to the junior after-prom party
  • sophomore ice cream social
  • freshman orientation refreshments

In order to fund these activities and events, the PAC raises funds in a variety of ways. Membership fees support a very small portion of our budget. Past fundraising events include: Community Variety Show, Fashion Show, Jewelry Show, and Car Show.

All parents and guardians of WHS students and all school staff (principal, teachers, aides, etc.) are eligible for membership. Dues ($7.00 in previous years) are payable on or before November 15th. Look for our membership drive in September and October.

PAC Meeting dates will be at 7:00 at the Wolcott High School in the Resource Center on (typically 2nd Tues. of each month):               Oct. 10
    Nov. 14
    Jan. 9
    Feb. 13
    Mar. 13
    Apr. 10
    May 8
