The Wolcott Board of Education is accepting applications for the following ANTICIPATED position:

Title: Project Director for Drug Free Communities Grant Wolcott CASA (Citizens Against Substance Abuse)

Location: District

Start Date: As Soon As Hired

Rate: Salary to commensurate with experience
Health Benefits included
(This is a non-union, contracted, grant-funded position)

Hours: 40 hours per week
Some evenings and weekends required
(Minimum of 2 evenings per month)

Responsibilities (may include but not limited to the following):
• Participate in and assist in the facilitation of local coalition, executive committee, and subcommittee meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, parents, coalition members, RTC youth members and assist in ongoing recruitment efforts.
• Weave CADCA’S 7 Strategies for Community Change and the five steps of the Strategic Prevention Framework – Assessment, Capacity Building, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation into all prevention initiatives. Ensure ongoing assessment and capacity-building activities as well as periodic plan reviews.
• Manage coalition budget and collaborate with the fiscal agent to ensure budget progress and assist with budget reports as needed.
• In coordination with the coalition executive committee, oversee prevention program implementation to ensure completion of the coalition action plan.
• Work alongside the project evaluator on the student survey process, program evaluation, and all data requirements.
• Provide ongoing supervision and support to the Project Coordinator and contracted personnel
• Develop training materials, manage social media accounts, create and disseminate materials for raising awareness on substance use/behavioral health topics, and manage the coalition website.
• Provide presentations to the Coalition and the general public on issues related to youth substance use prevention, mental health, and other public health topics.
• Attend trainings and workshops, statewide and national conferences the relevant to position.
• Assist coalition in sustainability efforts to secure funding and resources to maintain prevention work.
• Assist coalition in local, state-wide, and federal grant management efforts.



Qualifications & Experience:
• Must work efficiently with a diverse group of people in various positions, including community leaders and school staff.
• Experience in community outreach, networking, and working with local coalitions.
• Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
• Knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Ability to provide support/education to coalition members, including youth.
• Comfort and skill in providing supervision and support to program staff & contracted personnel.
• Experience in and knowledge of evidence-based substance abuse prevention practices, community approaches to prevention, and coordinating diverse groups in accomplishing a unified plan of action.
• Experience in working with the Drug-Free Communities Grant and with grant writing preferred but not required.
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in related field of Public Health with 2 years’ experience in health-related field. Master’s Degree in related fields preferred.

Travel: Travel to at least two national conferences required, travel, lodging & food expenses are paid by the coalition in accordance with federal grant guidelines. Travel within the town to meet with our coalition and community partners. Occasional in-state workshops and conferences may also be required.

Supervision: The Project Director position is supervised by the Coalition Chairperson and by the fiduciary agent (Wolcott Board of Education).
